Here’s a positive use of vacant land: a developer has created two community gardens on his downtown Vancouver property that is not yet, but will later be, under construction.  That’s much better, of course, than just leaving desiccated land to sit for years, but I do wonder how upset the gardeners will be when the time comes to destroy their plots…

Nevertheless, this is a wonderful step in the right direction.
