Sept. 28- Street Fair & Dance on I’On Square: 4 p.m. Blitz-Build- 50 bluebird houses in 50 mins! 5 p.m. Birds of Prey Demo;
6 p.m. Shag Dance Lessons & 7 p.m. Shaggin’ in the Square! Information booths, food, beverage and vendors selling local, green
and recycled. Town, county and state organizations will share insights and tips how we can each make changes that all add up. BZ
Sept. 29- New Village Community Portrait: 1:30 p.m.,
Everyone who lives, works, learns, worships or participates in the life of our community is invited to come to the bend in Prescient
Street for the taking of a community portrait to be included in theupcoming I’On at Ten, Life in the New Village coffee table book.
Dress as you like. No hats please. BZ
Sept. 29– Soccer without the SUV: 2 p.m. All you need to play soccer is a field, a ball, some kids and a community volunteer like Father John Parker of Holy Ascension Church. Bring those things to Eastlake Soccer Field and we’ll try it without traffic,fighting for parking or greenhouse gases. Picnics welcome. HA
Sept. 30– God’s Children Get Together Concert: 5 p.m.
Westlake Amphitheater. Opens with bell ringing and ancient Christian songs by Holy Ascension Orthodox Church; then music
by Holy Cross Episcopal Church, followed by rhythm and rejoicing by the Choirs of neighboring Holy Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church in Remley’s Point and a finale where members of I’Onissimo! Sings join our Remley’s Point neighbors singing someof the great music of the Lowcountry’s spiritual tradition. Enjoyfood sold by the churches. BZ
