Mixson’s inaugural street party, thrown in conjunction with Green Drinks Charleston, was a major success, with people coming from all over the Charleston area to talk green, drink green (local organic beer from Coast) and be green at the second largest LEED for Homes project in the US. Several homes were available to tour, and the open doors drew in people and dogs alike.

Chips and salsa and some truly Southern peach cobbler from Park Circle Coffee and Cream and the Barbecue Joint, both well-loved E. Montague establishments, made sure no one went too hungry before heading out to EVO for some wood-fired pizza. Turned out about half of the crowd from Mixson had the same idea about where to continue the party!

As with any good get-together, new friends were made, ideas were shared, and I’m pretty sure that Charleston can now boast a few more biking buddies. And speaking of boasting, Mixson can claim even more admirers since hosting those couple hundred curious people on Wednesday night. It looks like Mixson and Green Drinks Charleston are at the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
