North Charleston’s own home energy non-profit, The Sustainability Institute, mentioned in USA Today!
It’s more proof that North Charleston is truly becoming a leader in the green city movement! On Nov. 24, 2008, USA Today ran this article about green efforts to help low-income families, mentioning the incredible work of The Sustainability Institute to lower families’ energy bills by 10-20%. The Institute works with homeowners to improve their homes’ energy efficiency by offering energy audits, personal home energy consultations, and design reviews. They also offer a variety of workshops to educate homeowners about how to reduce their everyday energy usage.
Thinking you might want an energy audit for your home? Here’s another incentive to call the Institute: for every energy audit performed on a residence over 3,000 square feet, a weatherization will be donated for free to a low-income family.   It’s the gift that keeps on giving, both to you, and to a family in need.
